On 23rd January 2017, Milton Keynes celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking the historic date of the Designation of the New Town.Organisations, groups and businesses across the city have come together to create a programme of celebratory events for 2017 that are inspired by the past, present and future of Milton Keynes. Kicking off the 50th birthday celebrations, a major exhibition was held from the 10th - 23rd January in Midlleton Hall, centre:mk shopping centre, itself a Grade II listed New Town building of architectural significance.This book brings together many elements of the exhibition and is based on the information and exhibits from it. The culmination of a four year STACCess:MK project, the exhibition was curated by volunteers working for the Heritage MK partners and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Milton Keynes Council.
